How GrahaNow works
Exact astronomy, documented classical rules, plain-language explanation, and a human astrologer when you need depth. Here is what we do, and what we never do.

Four steps behind every reading
- 01Calculate
Your chart is calculated precisely from your birth date, time and place.
- 02Rules
Documented classical rules are matched against the calculated facts.
- 03Explain
AI explains only the validated evidence, in your language.
- 04Human when needed
An astrologer takes over when a question needs judgement and depth.
1. Exact astronomical calculation
Every reading starts with astronomy, not opinion. From your date, time and place of birth, our own calculation engine works out where each of the nine grahas and your Ascendant (Lagna) were at that moment.
- Sidereal zodiac with Lahiri ayanamsa — the standard used by the Government of India's calendar and by most Indian astrologers.
- Whole Sign houses and Vimshottari Dasha for timing, as in the classical tradition.
- Each calculation is recorded with the engine version and the inputs used, so the same birth details always give the same chart.
AI never calculates planetary positions, houses or dasha periods.
2. Documented classical rules, with named sources
A planet's position means something only when a documented rule says so. Each rule we use records the work, chapter and stanza it comes from, the chart facts it needs, and what it does and does not mean.
Our rules in use today come from Brihat Jataka of Varahamihira, in N. Chidambaram Iyer's 1885 English translation, which the Wellcome Collection marks as public domain. They draw on Chapter XX (stanzas 5–7) and the Chapter VIII stanza on how planets give their results during their dasha. We paraphrase the principle rather than copying long passages.
Other classical works, including Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Jataka Parijata, are being reviewed edition by edition. We add a work only after we have verified the exact text and our right to use it.
Not every planetary movement matters to you. We highlight a transit only when a rule or our checked relevance model connects it to your chart and your current dasha.
3. AI explains the evidence, in your language
Once the calculation and rules have produced evidence, AI turns it into clear, everyday language — in the language you choose. It is instructed to stay within that evidence: it must not invent rules or classical quotations, add planets or factors that are not there, or turn a tendency into a certainty.
No evidence, no answer — and no charge. If your chart does not hold enough validated evidence for a question, or the evidence points both ways, we tell you so plainly instead of guessing, and no credit is used.
4. A human astrologer when you need depth
Some questions need judgement, context and a conversation. For those, you can book a consultation with an astrologer who has been reviewed and approved by our team. Your chart is already calculated, so your time together can go to your question.

Your birth details stay yours
Your birth data is never sold. We use it only to prepare your readings, reports and consultations. The service providers who help us run GrahaNow (such as hosting, calculation, AI and payment services) process it only on our behalf. Read our privacy policy.
What we never do
- No fear-based selling. We do not use frightening predictions to push remedies, rituals or extra purchases.
- No guaranteed outcomes. Astrology describes tendencies and timing; it does not promise results.
- No medical, legal or financial advice. For health, legal or money decisions, please consult a qualified professional.
- No invented sources. If we cannot point to a documented rule, we do not present it as classical teaching.
